LEAGUE TABLES FROM SEASONS PAST
By selecting from the drop down menu below you can see how Pompey finished in each division they have played in since joining the Football League in 1920. You will notice that up until the 1975/1976 season if any of the teams were level on points, instead of goal difference they were separated by goal average. This was calculated by taking the number of goals scored and dividing it by the number of goals conceded.
